چکیده
Benz[a]acridine was considered by previous IARC Working Groups in 1983 and 1987 (IARC, 1983, 1987). Since that time, new data have become available; these have been incorporated into the Monograph, and taken into consideration in the present evaluation. Benz[c]acridine was considered by previous Working Groups in 1972, 1983, and 1987 (IARC, 1973a, 1983, 1987). Since that time, new data have become available; these have been incorporated into the Monograph, and taken into consideration in the present evaluation. Dibenz[a,h]acridine was considered by previous Working Groups in 1972, 1983, and 1987 (IARC, 1973a, 1983, 1987). Since that time, new data have become available; these have been incorporated into the Monograph, and taken into consideration in the present evaluation. Dibenz[a,j]acridine was considered by previous Working Groups in 1972, 1983, and 1987 (IARC, 1973a, 1983, 1987). Since that time, new data have become available; these have been incorporated into the Monograph, and taken into consideration in the present evaluation. Dibenz[c,h]acridine has not previously been considered by an IARC Working Group. Carbazole was considered by previous Working Groups in 1983, 1987, and 1998 (IARC, 1983, 1987, 1999). Since that time, new data have become available; these have been incorporated into the Monograph, and taken into consideration in the present evaluation. 7H-Dibenzo[c,g]carbazole (DBC) was considered by previous Working Groups in 1972, 1983, and 1987 (IARC, 1973b, 1983, 1987). Since that time, new data have become available; these have been incorporated into the Monograph, and taken into consideration in the present evaluation. Dibenzothiophene has not previously been considered by an IARC Working Group. Benzo[b]naphtho[2,1-d]thiophene has not previously been considered by an IARC Working Group.

NTP Research Concept: Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) Project Leader
Chemical identification and toxicity Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are composed of two or more fused rings made up of carbon and hydrogen atoms (see IPCS 1998 in supporting documents). They have at least one aromatic ring and can contain 5-membered, non-aromatic rings. The PAH chemical class includes unsubstituted and alkylated compounds and belongs to a broader polycyclic aromatic co...
متن کاملOverview of Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds (PAC)
The chemical group of polycyclic aromatic compounds (PAC), including the better-known subgroup of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and the heterocyclic aromatic compounds (NSO-PAC, heterocycles), comprise several thousand individual compounds. It is hard to find a comprehensive overview in the literature of these PACs that includes a substantial amount of relevant properties. Here an atte...
متن کاملDetermination of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Ambient Urban Air
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHS) have been determined in the atmosphere of Isfahan, Iran. Airborne particulate matter was sampled using a high-volume air sampler at roof-top level (~6m). Extraction of PAHS from airborne particulate matter has been performed using SFE system and the relationship between the extraction temperature and the recovery of PAHS</su...

Diet has been associated with varying cancer rates in human populations for many years, yet the causes of the observed variation in cancer patterns have not been adequately explained (Wynder et al., 1977). Along with the effect of diet on human cancer incidence is the strong evidence that mutations are the initiating events in the cancer process (Vogelstein et al., 1992). Foods, when heated, ar...
متن کاملEffect of the ultrasound–Fenton oxidation process with the addition of a chelating agent on the removal of petroleum-based contaminants from soil
The effects of ultrasonic irradiation, the chelating agent modified Fenton reaction, and a combination of ultrasound and the Fenton method in removing petroleum contaminants from a soil were studied. The results showed that the contaminant removal rate of the Fenton treatment combined with an oxalic acid chelating agent was 55.6% higher than that without a chelating agent. The average removal r...
